Rastafarian community joins Limpopo healing and cleansing ceremony on N1 freeway

POLOKWANE-Members of the Rastafarian community were amongst the Faith-based organisations that joined hands together with  Christians from different denominations and representatives from other religions, including traditional healers, to embark on a healing and cleansing ceremony along the N1 North and South freeway as part of seeking divine intervention for the safety of road users during the heightened festive season period.

The ceremony that took place on Thursday 07, December 2023 was graced by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Christine Morakaladi, on behalf of Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe , Waterberg District Commissioner Major General Dikeledi Mangena as well as various faith-based organizations and all relevant stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the Provincial Commissioner, Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Morakaladi said,

“Today, we come together on this solemn occasion to honour the sacred ceremony of healing and cleansing the N1 road. This stretch of highway has witnessed its fair share of tragic road accidents”

“As we embark upon this journey of healing and transformation, let us draw inspiration from the inherent strength within us. Let us remain resolute and unwavering in our dedication to preventing road accidents, ensuring that every trip along the N1 road is both secure and unforgettable”

The event concluded with Polokwane station Commander Brigadier Makhura acknowledging dignitaries and attendees through soulful music.

Three religious leaders, representing various faiths, Prophet Duplessis, Dr. Mokaila Traditional Healer, and Rastafarian leader Mr. Willems, closed the program with prayers, symbolizing unity in seeking divine protection for all road users.
