R81 accident victims identified as nurses travelling from a funeral

POLOKWANE : The two victims in the R81 accident have been identified as Mokopane Regional Hospital nurses returning back from a funeral when the car they were traveling with was involved in a head on collision.

The Nurses died after the vehicle that they were traveling in collided head-on with another vehicle in Munnik near Mall of the North.

The three nurses who were employees of the department of health stationed at Mokopane Hospital Maternity ward in times of their untimely death.

The surviving midwife is currently in a critical condition at Polokwane Med clinic Intensive care unit.

Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba has expressed sadness at the passing of two nurses and is expected to visit the surviving nurse at the Polokwane Med clinic this afternoon.
