R44 million set aside to resuscitate Thohoyandou botanical gardens

THOHOYANDOU: Thohoyandou Botanical Garden is set to receive a R44 Million makeover.

This is according to Limpopo MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism Thabo Mokone.

He says that the national department of fisheries forestry and environment have plans in motion to resuscitate the now dilapidated Botanical Garden in Thohoyandou.

Mokone made the announcement when giving a keynote address during the Limpopo Tourism Month launch at Kalahari Waterfront in Thohoyandou on Tuesday.

This year’s launch was under the theme “Rethinking Tourism”

He said that the Botanical Garden will be renovated to assist University students in conducting their researches.
