Process of identifying Musina bus accident victims underway

THOHOYANDOU : Limpopo Health MEC Dr.Phophi Ramathuba is present at the Tshilidzini Hospital in Shayandima outside Thohoyandou where the victims in the Musina bus crash will be identified.

Dr Ramathuba is joined by the Social Development MEC Nandi Ndalane.

20 workers from Venetia Mine lost their lives when a bus they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck and caught fire on the R572 road near Musina on Sunday.

Dr Ramathuba says only six bodies are identifiable while the remaining 14 were badly burnt.

The 14 bodies that were burnt beyond recognition had to be taken to Pietersburg Hospital in Polokwane first for X-rays before being returned to Tshilidzini.

With 20 people killed on the scene, 2 more succumbed to their injuries in hospital bringing the total number to 22.
