LEBOWAKGOMO-During her address at the State of the Province session in the Limpopo Legislative Chambers on Thursday, Premier Stanly Ramathuba took a moment to extend her heartfelt congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Masalanabo Modjadji VII of the Balobedu Nation for successfully completing her Grade 12.

The Premier commended this academic milestone, which marks a new chapter in the Queen’s life.

“We would also like to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Queen Masalanabo and congratulate her on passing her Grade 12, knowing that there is still room for her to continue her studies,” said Premier Ramathuba.

The Premier’s recognition of the Queen’s academic success goes beyond mere congratulations. It also highlights a momentous year for the Balobedu people, as Masalanabo Modjadji VII’s leadership and the restoration of the rainmaking monarchy has garnered national and international attention.

Premier Ramathuba also took the opportunity to reflect on the broader significance of Queen Masalanabo VII’s role, drawing attention to the remarkable rains that began pouring in early January 2025, shortly after President Cyril Ramaphosa officially recognized her as the Queen of the Balobedu Nation.

“Madam Speaker, hardly a few days after President Ramaphosa had recognized the Queenship of Her Majesty Queen Masalanabo VII of the Balobedu Queenship, it rained for days to no end,” Ramathuba explained. “This rain from the east covered the whole of Limpopo and continued throughout January 2025.

Those of us who understand the legend of the Rain Queen were not surprised, as we saw the connection between the heavens and the kingdom that has been restored to its rightful heir.”
