Police release identity of the body found at Letsitele Valley Road near Mokgoloboto

NKOWANKOWA-A 27-year-old man was found dead tied with a rope on the side of the Letsitele Valley road towards Coach house near Mokgoloboto in Great Tzaneen on Friday morning.

According to the police statement the man identified as Thabang Machete from Nkowankowa section A was robbed, kidnapped and murdered between Thursday, 14th and Friday 15th  September 2023.

It is alleged that two unknown suspects wearing balaclavas broke into a house at  Nkowankowa Section A where they threatened and tied a woman with a rope.

They waited in the house until her boyfriend came back. They attacked him and demanded money and car keys for a Golf 7 vehicle that was parked in the yard.

They forced the two into an NP 200 bakkie belonging to one of the victims and drove off.

While on the way, the 23-year-old woman jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran away. The matter was reported to the police and a Manhunt for the suspects ensued.

In the early hours of Friday, 15 September 2023, the Police found the victim severely injured along Letsitele Valley Road a few metres away from his NP 200 bakkie.

The emergency services were summoned to the scene and the victim was certified dead at the scene.

The motive behind the incident is unknown and police investigations continue.

The Police in Ritavi launched a manhunt for Two unknown suspects and  appeal to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact Detective Sergeant Eric Mathebula at 083 239 0977 or crime stop number 0860010111 or the nearest Police Station or MysapsApp.
