Police release identity of a young girl knocked and killed by car while crossing R36 Mokgoloboto village

MOKGOLOBOTO-In a heartbreaking incident that has shaken the community of Mokgoloboto village, a 14-year-old young girl tragically lost her life after being struck by a car while crossing the R36 road on Monday, May 14.

The young girl, identified as Ashley Mashala from Mokgolobotho village, is a grade 8 learner at Magoza Secondary School.

The incident occurred near Morokolotsi Atchaar in Mokgoloboto, sending shockwaves through the community and leaving loved ones in mourning.

Confirming the devastating news Magoza High School principal Rikhotso described Ashley as a bright and promising student.

According to reports, Ashley was crossing the R36 road when she was struck by a Toyota Avanza. Despite the prompt arrival of emergency personnel, their efforts were in vain as Ashley was tragically declared dead on the scene.

The news of Ashley’s untimely passing has sent waves of sorrow throughout the community, with an outpouring of condolences and support pouring in for her grieving family.

As friends and classmates struggle to come to terms with the loss of a beloved peer, counsellors and support services have been made available at Magoza Secondary School to help students cope with their grief and emotions during this difficult time. #Tzaneenvoice
