Police Dismantle Hitch Hiking Crime Syndicate In Tzaneen

LENYENYE- Limpopo Police have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with several hitchhiking robberies around Tzaneen.
The suspect aged 32 was nabbed at Rita in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality on Monday, February 15 for robbery and possession of stolen goods.
The arrest resulted in the recovery of one motor vehicle as well as 10 cellphones to the value of R200,000., the origins of which are still to be determined by the police.

According to the police the suspect robbed the victims who were hiking to Musina, Polokwane, Thohoyandou, Vuwani, and Giyani.
Police had received information from members of the community about a Silver VW polo that was involved in the incidents.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspect will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court soon.
The investigation to arrest other suspects continues.
