Piet Rampedi Appointed As Editor Of Pretoria News

BOLOBEDU- Pretoria News has appointed the renowned and critically acclaimed investigative journalist, Piet Mahasha Rampedi as their new editor. He will resume his new role on February 01.
Rampedi’s appointment at Pretoria News comes after the stepping down of Valerie Boje who served the paper for 8 years as a news editor.
The 40-year-old investigative journalist was born and bred at Mokgwathi Village in Bolobedu. He is currently an assistant editor at the Sunday Independent.
Rampedi is an award-winning journalist, with over 16 years of journalism experience in both print and broadcasting. Mr. Putin as affectionately known in the media fraternity has worked with numerous publications and broadcast such as City Press as Specialist Journalist, The Star as Investigative Editor, SABC as TV News Reporter, Independent Newspaper as Political Editor, Sunday Times as Senior Journalist, Capricorn FM as a Host and also a founder of African Times.
Rampedi has won several awards including CNN African (print) journalist of the year 2012, Vodacom (2010 and 2016) journalist of the year (print), Media24 (Legends awards) 2010 journalist of the year, City Press 2008 journalist of the year.
Dr. Igbal Surve’, Executive Chairman of Independent Media and Chairman of the Sekunjalo Group, congratulated Rampedi for his appointment and described him as a courageous journalist who boldly and truthfully reports the news that needs to be told.
