PHALABORWA – A 61-year-old suspect has been arrested and facing a crimen injuria charge for calling his employee the K-word.
The business owner Rufus Louw appeared before Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court on Friday,September 15 and granted a R1000.00 bail and he will appear again on 06 November 2023 for further Police investigations.
The Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Ledwaba says the arrest comes after he allegedly, insulted one of his female employees by using a “K” word towards her while on duty at Phalaborwa Recycling Company, on Thursday 14 September 2023.
The victim reported the incident to the Police, a case was opened against the employer and he was arrested.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident, calling it unacceptable and urged community members to report such cases to the Police who will investigate and arrest the perpetrators.
