PETANENGE : A man has been arrested for allegedly attacking and killing a 34 – year old woman with a knife and tomahawk at Petanenge village in Greater Tzaneen on Sunday.
The woman, identified as Tebogo Malatjue died on the scene following the brutal attack.
The suspect, Ben Ndlovu who is the ex-lover of the deceased has been arrested and admitted to the hospital after he attempted suicide.
Ritavi Police say that the motive of the murder has not been established at this stage.
Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale has described as disturbing, the continuing incidents of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in the province.
She says a team of social workers has been sent to the area where they started providing psychosocial support to the family and other affected parties and further called for the suspect to face the full wrath of the law.
