POLOKWANE : Various – faith-based organizations, varying from Pastors to traditional convened on the N1 road on the outskirts of Polokwane for a cleansing ceremony of the road.
The ceremony took place at N1 North near Mekete Lodge and N1 South next to Shell Ultra City Garage in Polokwane this morning.
The Healing and Cleansing Ceremony along the N1 North and South Freeway forms part of seeking divine intervention for the safety of road users during the heightened festive season period.
The province has in recent times recorded many fatal crashes leading to fatalities as a result of reckless and negligent driving such as unsafe overtaking , excessive speeding, drunk driving, disregarding road traffic rules and regulations amongst others.
Traffic on this road as expected to pick up greatly as the Festive Season officially begins from next week.
