NKOWANKOWA- The VW Polo hijacked three months ago at Litsitele was recovered by police on Tuesday morning at Kgapane and one suspect has been arrested.
According to the police statement, the silver Volkswagen Polo TSI registration DWT 157 L was hijacked at gunpoint in the Letsitele precinct on June 24.
It is alleged that the driver was driving towards Phalaborwa when a car coming from behind overtook them and stopped in front of their car abruptly, forcing them to stop.
The hijackers, two males, one pointing a firearm and another one with a knife, allegedly proceeded to come out of their car and ordered them out of the car.
The vehicle was then used to terrorise the community of the Mopani district with various crimes.
The suspect has been detained by the police and will appear in court soon.
