ACORNHOEK – A tragic accident occurred this afternoon on the notorious R40 road near a village in Acornhoek, resulting in the loss of one life.
The collision, which involved a truck and a sedan vehicle , happened around 15h00. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided head-on, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but despite their efforts, one person was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
