NAMAKGALE- One of the two inmates who escaped while being escorted from the charge office to the police van to be detained in another police station on 08 October 22 at One of two inmates who escaped from police custody in Phalaborwa was arrested in North Westaround 1:00 has been rearrested at Brits in Northwest.
Lefa Malatji from Namakgale was facing housebreaking charges.
Namakgale Police Station Sergeant Lebogang Selepe said the South African Police Service was working around the clock to hunt down the pair but help from the community played a huge role to hunt down the suspect.
The suspect was arrested on January 31 at 02: 00.
The other suspect Thabang monareng known as Koporo from Mashishimale is still at large and being sought by the police.
The Police are appealing to the public to assist with any information that may lead to the re-arrest of the other suspect.
A case of escape from lawful custody was immediately opened and the Police are probing the circumstances surrounding how they managed to escape, while police are still in pursuit of him,
