NAMAKGALE-Phalaborwa VW crew chairperson hit back at the people who are saying that VW drivers are the worst drivers and womanizers in the country.

The Phalaborwa VW crew chairperson Tshepiso Jan Mosoma who started the Phalaborwa VW Crew in 2019 says he is working hard to change that perception because not all VW drivers are reckless and irresponsible on the road.

“The purpose of the VW crew is to educate the driver to be good drivers on the road and responsible citizens” he said

According to the study conducted by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) revealed that Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Quantum are the vehicle models mostly involved in fatal crashes in South Africa and account for the highest number of speeding fines issued.

The 56 active members aim to continue to support disadvantaged families around Phalaborwa.

Masoma is married and blessed with two children. He worked at Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality under a leadership program and later moved to Palabora Mining Company where he is now a qualified Artisan.

“The truth is that VW drivers are family men. They are responsible mothers and fathers. In January we do a back-to-school campaign, and school uniform donation. In February we buy groceries for orphans. In June we buy blankets and jerseys for underprivileged children, “Mosoma explained.

The crew consists of different professionals in different fields or sectors. He is appealing to event organisers to contact them on the Facebook page of Phalaborwa VW Crew through inbox if they want the crew to do a convoy for them at a reasonable fee which goes towards donations to the underprivileged.
