Nkowankowa Continental thrash Maruleng Celtics to set a date with Thothokwe Golden Syrup

Nkowankowa Continental move a bit closer to reaching their Nedbank Cup last 32 goals after beating Maruleng Celtics 5-0 on Sunday, 16th October.

Mariveni United are the only team to have gone as far as the Nedbank Cup’s last 32 stages, a feat they achieved in 2017, However, Coach Peace Khoza is determined to guide his club to equal their Mopani SAB League counterpart’s record.

“Our goal is to go all the way to the last 32 of the Nedbank. As you can see today, we played well, and the boys followed the instruction we have given them. We have a talented squad they are determined and Motivated,” Said Khoza.

The Nkowankowa outfit knocked out Segabeng Hotbeans 2-1 in their Tropical Stream Group B game on Saturday and went on to beat Mandlakadzi Dynamos 3-1 and bulldozed Maruleng Celtics 5-0 to set a date with Thothokwe Golden Syrup in the Mopani Nedbank Cup finals at Ramotshinyadi Stadium on Wednesday.

“We have only two days to prepare but we will be able to prepare the strongest team to compete,” he said.

During their game, Celtics Brandon Shipalane, Thabo Ngobeni, Akani Baloyi, Matladi Mokgaladi and Brandon Baloyi, scored the five goals that sent through Continental to the tournament’s next phase.

The game between Continental and Golden Syrup will Kick off at 15:00.
