GREENFARM- Nikiwe Makondo (20) from GreenFarm Village, outside Malamulele under Collins Chabane Municipality was crowned Miss Intercontinental South Africa 2023 during the 2023 Miss Intercontinental South Africa showpiece which took place at Gold Reef City on Sunday July 9.
The young and passionate model stunned everyone and became the first youngest model to win the crown.
As the winner of Miss Intercontinental South Africa, Makondo will represent the country in October 2023 in Egypt, for the Miss Intercontinental pageant against models from various continents across the globe.
The bubbly 2023 Miss Intercontinental South Africa winner and University of Pretoria final year International Relations student, said she is passionate about raising awareness on mental and holistic health.
Reacting to news of Makondo’s crowning, Collins Chabane Municipality Mayor Shadrack Maluleke said her crowning sends a clear message to the young women of Collins Chabane, that ‘you can achieve anything if you remain focused on your objectives.’
“To her, we say, you are an inspiration to millions, particularly young women and children, to never stop dreaming and believe in themselves,” the mayor added.
In 2022, Nikiwe Makonde was crowned 2nd princess for Miss Teen South Africa, and she’s optimistic about her next journey of becoming the 1st princess of Miss Intercontinental.
