Newly refurbished Polokwane Magistrate Complex which was gutted by fire officially opened

POLOKWANE-Minister of Justice and Correctional Service Ronald Lamola and Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Sihle Zikalala leading the official opening on newly refurbished Polokwane court on Friday, May 10.

The Polokwane Magistrate Complex which was gutted by fire, in October 2012, was officially opened today.

Construction of the revamped facility commenced in 2017, and was disrupted by the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its completion, according to MEC Radzilani, means that the administration of justice, in this part of the Country, will be carried out diligently.

She also indicated that ‘the opening of this facility, is in tandem with the fundamental objectives of this democratic state, of increasing citizen’s access to justice and creating a culture of promoting human rights’.

The Ministers were accompanied by Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani, MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale, Executive Mayors Cllr Mamedupi Teffo and Cllr John Mpe, Capricorn District Executive Mayor Mamedupi Teffo and Polokwane’s Executive Mayor John Mpe.
