LULEKANI -A newborn baby was found abandoned near Matiko xikaya and Humulani Village in Lulekani, under Ba-Phalaborwa on Monday afternoon.
Police received an anonymous call from a concerned resident stating that he saw something wrapped like a baby.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed that it was a baby and police urgently summoned the medical services who took the baby to the hospital.
The baby is said to be in good condition. Child Protective Services now has custody of the baby.
Anyone who can assist with information that can help to trace the mother can contact the nearest police station.
