GA-MAMETJA – A 70-year-old pensioner was fatally stabbed by his neighbor in Makoloto section, Ga-Mametja village, under the Hoedspruit Policing area, last night.
The tragic incident followed a heated argument between the two men.
According to reports, the argument escalated, leading to the neighbor allegedly seizing a sharp object and stabbing the elderly man multiple times.
The suspect then fled the scene.
The injured pensioner was rushed to Sekororo hospital for urgent medical attention. However, despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the medical facility.
Police have identified the suspect, who is known in the community, and have launched a manhunt for his immediate arrest.
The Hoedspruit police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing are currently ongoing.
