KGAPANE-Reneilwe Maenetja (33), a food scientist from Newtown in Kgapane is trending on social media after sharing a picture of her neighbour helping her son (Thando) with some homework.

The picture which was posted by Maenetja on Facebook group #I’mstaying says: “Today, I found myself reflecting about how Tannie Ingrid, my neighbour has actively taken the role of helping my son with his schoolwork”

Tannie Ingrid had selflessly volunteered her time to help her neighbors’ son with his Afrikaans homework – something his mother was unfortunately not good at.

“My son is in Afrikaans medium school and my Afrikaans is not that good. He is now in Grade 3, and she has been doing this since he started school. Every single day, she dedicates time to ensure that his schoolwork is done”

The Coronavirus has wreaked havoc in nearly every aspect of all of our lives. Unfortunately, school kids were not left unaffected by the pandemic, having had to take long breaks from their classrooms over the last few months.

Tannie Ingrid is not only assisting with homework, she is more than that to Maenetja as she sometimes fetches him from school.

“My life is very hectic at the moment because the nature of my work involves working long hours, traveling, and on top of that I am studying Masters degree, but Tannie is always there for me” added Maenetja.

Thankfully, many amazing people like Tannie Ingrid have taken it upon themselves to try and ease the burden of Coronavirus by doing all sorts of good deeds in the lives of others.

Tannie Ingrid has received overwhelming praise for her kindness.

Many Facebookers were touched by the heartwarming post and joined Reneilwe in thanking Ingrid for her kindness.

Reneilwe who is currently working as a Quality Assurance Manager, in a milling company in Bultfontein [Free-State] says that life has taught her that race is not a barrier.

“Ek waardeer alles jy doen vir my seuntjie (I appreciate everything you do for my boy)” concluded Maenatja

We love seeing South Africans coming together to help one another.
