N’WADZEKUDZEKU- It was a day to remember in Nwadzekudzeku village when the community gathered to celebrate with Mbedzi family as the MEC for Corporate Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA), Basikopo Makamu, and the Executive Mayor of Mopani, Councilor Pule Shayi handed over a fully furnished house to the family of Rejoice Mbedzi, on Monday, November 23.
The mother of two was over the moon during the handover. She and her husband together with their two daughters shared living conditions in a one-room mud house. Mbedzi has been staying in a one-roomed mud house. “I didn’t think this will ever happen to me, even when they started with the foundation I still did not believe. I’m overwhelmed with joy,” Mbedzi expressed.
Meanwhile, MEC Makamu also handed fully furnished houses to two other destitute families. The humble contribution and gifts were consistent with the freedom charter, which says “there shall be houses for all.
