Namakgale Police releases names of R71 accident victims

PHALABORWA-Police in Namakgale have released the names of three people who were killed in the accident allegedly occurred along R71 road between Cast Crete and Schietoch junction on Sunday, May 15 at at about 10H15 in the morning.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a Corsa bakkie was driving from Phalaborwa town heading to the direction of Namakgale.

The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and it left the road, hit the tree and overturned.

The impact was of a serious nature and 2 passengers were declared dead at the scene. The driver who is the member of the SANDF sustained serious injuries and was transported to one mil hospital in Pretoria where he is recuperating.

Later it was discovered that the vehicle was having four occupants (3 passengers and a driver) at the time of the accident.

A search was conducted and another body was found. A total of 3 people perished as a result of the accident.

The cause of the accident is not yet known however the police investigation is underway.

The deceased were identified as follows:

1.Perry Malesa of Makhushane Kanana village

2.Moses Shai of Tsube village GA-Mashishimale

3.Joko Phillip Malatji of Makhushane Kanana village
