MUSINA: Twenty people have tragically lost their lives in a horrific bus accident on Sunday, while many other passengers remain fighting for their lives in hospital.
The accident took place 40km from venetia mine to musina under the Vhembe district.
It is alleged that a truck collided head on with bus between at around 17:00 and immediately caught fire.
All lanes were closed after the accident as traffic officials and police attended to the scene.
22 people have been declared dead so far and emergency personnel are on the ground trying to rescue trapped passengers.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The road will be closed for several hours and motorists driving between Venetia, and Musina are advised to use alternative roads.
