SESHEGO – Lodwick Mokgohloa, the suspect accused of the brutal murder of his wife, Judius Mabetoa, appeared before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Mokgohloa stands accused of fatally stabbing his 49-year-old pregnant wife in Moletjie (Sengatane). The tragic incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Reports indicate that the confrontation began as a heated argument between the couple, which escalated into violence.
During the altercation, Mokgohloa allegedly used a sharp object to stab his wife multiple times in the upper body, resulting in her death. Following the attack, Mokgohloa fled the scene, triggering a manhunt.
In today’s court appearance, the case was briefly reviewed before being postponed to tomorrow, June 11, 2024. The delay will allow the court more time to review the details of the case and for the defence and prosecution to prepare their arguments.
The community remains in shock over the horrific incident, and there is a widespread call for justice for Judius Mabetoa and her unborn child. The postponement of the case has added to the anticipation as family, friends, and community members await further developments.
