SHAWELA VILLAGE-The Police in Bolobedu activated a massive manhunt for suspects who shot and killed a woman aged 56 and her son aged 40, on Sunday, 19 May 2024 at Shawela Village at around 06h00.
Police were notified about the shooting incident and rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a male victim lying down in a pool of blood inside the house, with gunshot wounds.
Members of Emergency Medical Services were immediately dispatched to the scene and he was certified dead. His identity is currently withheld for investigation purposes.
The Police were further informed that a 56-year-old woman was also shot during the same incident. She was transported to a local hospital and unfortunately, she also lost her life.
Preliminary investigations revealed that unknown suspects knocked at the residence of the 40 year old deceased man, and he went to the gate, and a heated argument ensued. His mother also went outside to check, and gunshots were heard. The male victim ran inside the house and collapsed. A 63 year old man , the father of the 40 year old , also went outside to check and found his wife lyng in pain with gunshots. She was rushed to hospital, unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries..
The motive behind this brutal attack which resulted in the killings is unknown, but further Police investigations will determine.
