GIYANI-Mopani District Municipality’s Executive Mayor Cllr Pule Josiah Shayi officially handed over a fully-furnished three bedroom house to Khosa family at Ngove in Giyani on Wednesday afternoon.
The family which is dependent on child support grant has been living in a one room house for many years with her three children, including an elder son who is doing grade 10.
The three bedroom house include a living area, kitchen, bathroom, and a toilet.
Mikateko Khosa was excited to take ownership of the house. “It was not easy sleeping in a one room with three children, including a 15-year-old son. I’m so grateful to government for this house.”
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Speaker of Mopani District Municipality Martha Maswanganyi, Mayor of Greater Giyani Municipality Thandi Zitha, Mopani District MMCs and councilors.
