GA-SEKGOPO – The Ga-Sekgopo community in greater Letaba Municipality is in shock after the body of a missing woman from Malatjie village was discovered in a local river.
The woman, identified as 27-year-old Morongwa Mootane, was last seen attending a soul session in the area on Sunday, July 28.
Reports indicate that Mootane was reported missing by her family after failing to return home that evening.
Concerned friends and family initiated a search, checking with friends and places she frequently visited, but were unable to locate her, and her phone remained unreachable.
The search for Mootane took a tragic turn when a companion allegedly confessed to killing her and burying her body in a shallow grave near the river. This confession led authorities to the gruesome discovery of her lifeless body this evening.
The circumstances surrounding Mootane’s death are still under investigation by local police, who are working to piece together the events that led to this tragic outcome.
The community is mourning the loss of a young woman whose life was cut short, as they await further details from the ongoing investigation.
