Millions gather for total solar eclipse

USA  : Scores of people in the continent of North America are waiting in anticipation for the solar eclipse set to pass over the United States of America and parts of Mexico today.

According to CNN, Millions of people have flocked to different cities where the eclipse will be visible as they are getting ready for the breathtaking sight.

However, South Africa will miss out on this phenomenon, as the Total Solar Eclipse is expected to occur today with the climax happening in Northern Mexico, the U.S., and Southeastern Canada.

The sun will be totally obscured in the City of Mazatlan in Mexico 🇲🇽 at 20 : 10 ( South African Time )

The last time South Africa witnessed this event was almost 23 years ago, on December 4, 2002.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, obscuring the view of the Sun from a small part of the Earth totally or partially.

During this occurrence, darkness is experienced for a few minutes.
