Mentally Challenged Man Allegedly Attacked A woman with a Panga in Sekgosese

MAMAILA- The police in Sekgosese have opened a case of assault GBH. This comes after a man who is believed to be mentally challenged allegedly attacked a woman with a panga in Mamaila village, Sekgosese, in Greater Letaba.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that the man allegedly attacked the elderly woman unprovoked at her home on Sunday,08 May. It is further alleged that neighbours who witnessed the incident immediately disarmed the suspect and tied him down in an attempt to restrain him.

The victim was admitted at Kgapane Hospital with multiple injuries.

Colonel Nakampe Machete of Sekgosese police station confirmed the incident and reiterated that the suspect has aggressive behaviour thus, unsuspecting villagers have felt his wreath on multiple occasions.

“The suspect has a habit of attacking innocent people around the village. He was arrested on Sunday and remanded at Giyani police station.

He made his first court appearance on Monday, 09 May.”
