Mayor Engages Local Taxi Association on Nkowankowa Shutdown

TZANEEN- Greater Tzaneen Municipality Mayor Gerson Molapisane met with leaders from the Nkowankowa Taxi Association and the Greater Tzaneen Taxi Association regarding the ongoing Nkowankowa Shutdown on Tuesday, March 25.

The taxi associations have fully supported the shutdown, resulting in no taxi movement, and the taxi rank was left empty.

Local businesses, including Relay Jenas, Pep, and Usave, were also closed in solidarity with the protest.

The Mayor has been in active discussions with the Mopani District Municipality and Eskom to find solutions to the situation.

In the coming hours, Mayor Molapisane will proceed to Letaba Cross to address the community directly.
