MADEIRA VILLAGE-Maruleng Celtics crowned Maruleng Mayor’s Tournament 2023 after beating Bakgalaka FC 6- 5 on penalties at Madeira Sports Ground on Sunday, April 09.
The thrilling game between Celtics and Bakgalaka ended in a 0-0 draw.
Maruleng Celtics took home R5000, Soccer Kit, Trophy and Medals and the runners-up won R3000, Medals and a Soccer ball Bakgalaka United while third place Tzaneen United received R1500 and a Soccer ball Tzaneen United and Maatau fc got R1500 and a Soccer ball.
On the road to the championships Maruleng Celtics beat Happy Stars 2-1 in the quarterfinal to proceed to the Semi-final to eliminate Tzaneen United 6-5 after sharing spoils.
