LENYENYE: Judgement is today set to be handed down on the assault and attempted murder case involving Mark Scott-Crossley and Silence Mabunda.

This as the case will return to the Lenyenye Magistrate’s Court for the umpteenth time.

Scott-Crossley allegedly ran over Silence Mabunda with a 4×4 bakkie at Campus Res in Hoedspruit back in December 2016.

This follows an alleged racial argument that ensued between the victim and the accused.

In the arguments read by the Magistrate’s in the last court appearance, Scott-Crossley denied being racist and albeit admitting to driving recklessly and damaging property, he denied running over Mabunda.

Mark Scott-Crossley said that the four state witness made up statements in their heads to mislead the court for a period of 4 years.

The accused further said that Mabunda’s injuries were not sustained from him being ran over by his vehicle as his 2014 Jeep is a powerful vehicle that crashes stones and had it ran over Silence Mabunda, his injuries would have been worse than they are.

Mark also said that he is not racist and doesn’t remember some of the things he said to Mabunda during the argument.
