Man suspected of raping five months pregnant woman at Ga-Sekgopo arrested

GA-SEKGOPO-A 33-year-old African male who is the prime suspect in the rape of a five months pregnant woman at Maboing village, Ga-sekgopo, Greater Letaba, has been apprehended.

Modjadjiskloof Constable Eliot Mabulane confirmed that FCS traced the suspect through cellphone communication and convinced him to hand himself over to the police station where he was subsequently arrested.

Lieutenant Colonel Machete welcomed the arrest and applauded police officers who worked tirelessly to bring the perpetrator to book.

“We condemn any acts of violence against women and children including other genders such as the LGBTIQP community,” Machete said.

The suspect is expected to appear in court on charges of rape soon.
