Man strangles girlfriend to death at Pharare Village

PHARARE-The community of Pharare, Nsolani village, in Greater Tzaneen, woke up to the shocking discovery of the body of a young woman who was allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday, August 28.

It is reported that the couple had spent the day together at a party in the area on Saturday and they were allegedly seen arguing.

It is reported further that after the party the couple left. Allegedly, along the way, the argument is said to have continued intensely next to Blackburn sports ground where the victim was heard screaming from.

According to a community member who spoke to Tzaneen Voice anonymously, they heard the screams around 4am.

“It was at the break of dawn when we heard the couple arguing and subsequently the lady started screaming asking for help. We went to investigate and the couple eventually stopped fighting. I thought the issue was resolved only to be woken up by the noise of people gathered at the crime scene around 7am “, he said.

Emergency personnel and police were summoned and the victim was sadly declared dead on the scene.

The suspect who is known around the community is reported to have fled the scene and is still at large. Maake police have opened a case of murder and Investigations are underway.
