GIYANI-A-23 year -old- man was arrested at his hiding place in Botsabelo village for a murder that occurred at Rivala village(Dengeza) yesterday, Wednesday 02 August at about 18h00 pm.
It is alleged that on the day in question, the police were summoned to the scene of the crime at Rivala village. Upon police arrival at the scene of the crime, they were pointed to the body of the deceased who was lying in a pool of blood.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at the time that the electricity went off the victim went to the nearby shop to buy cigarettes, after he bought the cigarette he was accosted by the suspect and had arguments with him, in the process the suspect stabbed the deceased in the chest and died instantly
The suspect then fled the scene without informing anyone where he is going. The police open a case of murder and immediately commenced an investigation
The investigation led them to Botsabelo village where they successfully arrested the positive suspect assisted by his family
The deceased was identified as Richard Mathebula age 46
The suspect will appear before the Giyani magistrate facing a Case of Murder on Monday 07 August.
