MANKWENG-A man allegedly sneak into a cousin’s bedroom and his girlfriend’s in the early hours of 03 December 2023 in Sebayeng outside Mankweng,
It is alleged that the 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend were asleep at the boyfriend’s house in Makotopong Village when the man’s cousin allegedly sneaked into their bedroom, assaulted and threatened the victim with a knife before he raped her.
The suspect then fled the scene. The victim woke up her boyfriend who was fast asleep the entire incident and informed him about what had transpired.
The incidents were reported at the respective Police Stations and then transferred to the FCS Unit for further investigation.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned these incidents of rape, particularly during the 16 Days of Activism campaign for no Violence Against Women and Children. She emphasized the need for police persistence in pursuing suspects to ensure justice is served.
