TZANEEN : Yesterday Tuesday 2023-12-12 the Tzaneen magistrate court sentenced the 43-year-old Goodman Soza Chabalala to two (2) life sentences for raping and impregnating his 16-year-old stepdaughter at Maphalle village near Mokwati in 2022 and a 4-year-old at Shawela village in 2014.
It is alleged that on 2022-06-11 the suspect raped his stepdaughter and the mother opened the case on her behalf. The case was assigned to Tzaneen FCS Detective Sergeant Auldah Vukeya .
Her meticulous investigation led to the arrest of the suspect on 2022-06-13. His bail application was opposed successfully by the investigation officer. The suspect was linked with the rape through DNA and it was confirmed that the 16-year-old child was pregnant with his child.
During the investigation, the 43-year-old Chabalala Soza Goodman was also linked through DNA to the rape of the then 4-year-old girl in 2014-07-25.
