MOEKETSI-Suspect Morepiwa Mathews Mononela has been found Guilty by Modjadjiskloof magistrate court for theft of avocados.
The suspect was spotted while busy carrying avocados in and out of the farm arranging to be collected by a vehicle.
He was then arrested on the scene and charged with theft with the stock valued at R115-000.
The docket was assigned to Detective Constable Lehlogonolo Lazarus Kgatla who ensured that enough evidence was collected to link the suspect to the crime.
The suspect was then found guilty and sentenced to 3 years of direct imprisonment for theft.
The station commander L.t Colonel Manamela has appreciated the good work done by the members involved in the arrest and mostly the investigating officer who left no stone unturned. We believe that this sentence will serve as a deterrence to other criminals who continue to terrorize the farms.
