TZANEEN-Police in Tzaneen are investigating a case of robbery after a 36-year-old male was robbed while hitchhiking to Polokwane.
According to Tzaneen Police Communication Officer Sgt Maurice Nkhwashu, a grey Hyundai hath back with three African males offered the victim a lift on the R71 overhead bridge near Lifestyle Mall.
“Whilst on George’s Valley road the car turned onto a gravel road with the pretext that one of the occupants was going to see his girlfriend”
“Suddenly the car stopped in the Middle of nowhere and the three took out knives and threatened to stab the 36-year-old unsuspecting victim,” Sgt Nkhwashu said
They then robbed him of his two Huawei cellphones, a black and white Adidas Juventus FC t-shirt and bank cards.
They started to punch and kick the victim demanding pin codes.
The assailants left the victim in the bushes bruised and battered to go and withdraw R4000-00 (four thousand rands only) at a garage ATM In Agatha Tzaneen on the same date before the victim could close the accounts.
