Man dies after he was allegedly ‘turned away ‘ by Nurses

TAFELKOP: A team of officials has been sent by Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who allegedly collapsed and died on his way home from Ramupudu clinic in Tafelkop where he had gone to consult.

Some community members allege that the man was denied medical assistance at the clinic. However, preliminary reports from the nursing staff indicate that the patient in question was seen by the staff at the clinic who recommended that he be transfered to Grobelarsdaal Hospital for further medical care and management.

The patient allegedly refused to immediately go to the hospital citing that he first need to consult at home before he can go to hospital.

The nurses allowed him to go home because when it comes to medical admission and administration, the patietnt has the final say.

The MEC has called for calm in the community and allowed the investigation team to get to the bottom of this issue.
