ABEL VILLAGE: The discovery of a woman’s body prompted a SWAT standoff at Abel Village in Greater Letaba Municipality.
It is alleged that a man believed to be romantically involved with the teenage girl whose body was found floating in Lethakane river earlier this morning, at Abel village in Greater Letaba, has allegedly hung himself this afternoon.
Earlier today, the body suspected to be of a teenage girl was discovered floating in one of the local rivers by villagers . According to community members, no one recognized the victim because her body was floating faced down.
However after the emergency personnel and police were alerted, the teenage was identified by the family during the removal of the body.
During the removal of the body preliminary police investigations indicated that the woman’s body had been mutilated.
Police confirmed that ore investigations will be conducted to ascertain the motive behind the death.
