KGAPANE – Police in Bolobedu are investigating a murder case following the tragic death of a woman at the hands of her son.
The incident reportedly occurred at Mamphakathi village on Sunday evening at approximately 22:00.
It is alleged that the man was involved in an argument with his wife when his mother, who was in her 60s, intervened to try and separate them. In a tragic turn of events, the man then stabbed his mother.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but it was too late, and she was pronounced dead.
A 39-year-old man was arrested same night following the fatal stabbing of his mother.
Bolobedu police have confirmed both the incident and the arrest. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon. Police are appealing to residents who may have information regarding the incident to contact their nearest police station.
