SASELAMANI: Saselamani SAPS are investigating a case of inquest and murder after a woman was found murdered and her husband hangs himself at Mhinga village RDP houses on Saturday 25 November 2023.
Police received a complaint about the incident and rushed to the scene and found the body of a woman with an open wound on the face lying inside the room in a pool of blood with her hands tied with a rope.
Members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to the scene but she was certified dead upon their arrival.
Police also discovered a pick with blood stains behind the door believed to be utilized during the barbaric incident.
Afterwards, police received another complaint about a male who was found hanging on a tree at Mhinga village next to the Levubu River.
The corpse was identified as the suspect believed to be a Mozambican National aged 34 responsible for the murder of a 29-year-old victim.
The deceased was identified by the next of kin as Rolentia Chauke.
