Man accused of stealing tyres brutally murdered at Dikgomong village

BOTLOKWA-A 44-year-old man was assaulted and brutally killed on Saturday, 11 November 2023 at Mokomene-Dikgomong village in Botlokwa.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the murdered man was identified by his family member as Silas Makuba Racheku aged 44 years old of Mokomene-Dikgomong village outside Polokwane.

According to the information available at this stage, it is alleged that on Saturday, 11 November 2023 at about 22:15, a 54-year-old male suspect tracked down the deceased and found him at a certain tavern at Mokomene-Dikgomong village and drove away with him in a white motor vehicle, Toyota Fortuner,  Registration numbers CP 80 PP GP to an unknown place.

The suspect later on the same night of Saturday, 11 November 2023, reported to the police that he assaulted the victim whom he suspected that he stole his tyres.

It is reported that upon arrival of the Police at the crime scene, they discovered the lifeless body of the male person in a white Toyota Fortuner brutally assaulted while bleeding from the nose and mouth with broken legs.

The Police sought medical assistance the victim was certified dead upon arrival of the paramedics at the scene of the crime and they arrested the suspect for murder.

The suspect is expected to appear before Morebeng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 13 November 2023.
