TZANEEN-A 53-year-old man appeared in Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Friday for raping a 13-year-old learner.
According to Tzaneen Police Communications Officer Sgt Maurice Nkhwashu, it is alleged that the accused threw a stone on the three learners who were coming from school at Botludi village in Greater Tzaneen on Wednesday afternoon, the kids ran in different directions.
“The suspect followed thirteen (13) year-old-girl and lured her with R10, and a packet of cheese naks, and raped her in the nearby bushes.
“One of the three minors informed the elders at the nearby tuck shop who quickly searched the bush and found the 53-year-old male in the act”
“He was apprehended by the community and handed over to the police” Sgt Nkhwashu said
The court was postponed to Monday, October 25, and the accused was remanded in custody. #TzaneenVoice
