MANKWENG: The rape case of Mosele Malatjie has been postponed to the 20th of January 2023.
This after the 21-year-old abandoned his bail application when he appeared at the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court outside Polokwane this morning.
The rape occurred on the 14th of November when the victim was playing with a neighbour’s child after her mother went to enquire about a social club.
The mother left the child at neighbour’s home but when she returned later to fetch, she discovered that the victim was bleeding.
The rape ordeal forced the two-year-old victim to go through surgery.
Malatjie was arrested on the 16th of November for the rape of 2-year-old in Ga Makanyane.
The Community of Ga – Makanye signed a petition that will prevent an alleged rapist from getting bail.
The accused will remain in custody.
