Malenga High School mourns after a teacher die in car crash on R81 in Giyani

GIYANI-A school in Giyani has been plunged into mourning after a 34-year-old teacher together a friend died in a car crash on the R81 near the village of Bode, on the outskirts of on Saturday.

According to Giyani Police Station Communication Officer Constable Ridgewell Rikhotso the driver was travelling from N’wamankena Village to Bode Village when he lost control of the vehicle and overturned several times.

“The driver and one passenger certified dead at the scene. Two of the passengers who were transported to Nkhensani hospital were later released, while the other passenger remains admitted to the hospital with serious injuries” Constable Rikhotso said

A culpable homicide was registered under Giyani Police Station, circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.

The deceased were identified as Silence Mathebula (34), the driver from N’wamakena village, and a 34-year-old teacher at Malenga high school, Forget Mitileni also residing in N’wamakena village.
