NAMAKGALE-Women are being celebrated for the entire month in South Africa, this means that women are being heard, recognized, valued, respected, and honored.

To honor them, Tzaneen Voice caught up with some of the many local women who are making an impact in their fields and communities. Makgofe Moagi, a businesswoman and media personality, who hails from Phalaborwa, says her vision is to work and move with a purpose.

From a young age, Moagi has had a vision to better the lives of those around her. She began her philanthropic spirit of making a difference and helped children in impoverished communities.

Today, a successful actress, television presenter, Executive Producer, businesswoman, and mistress of ceremonies, Creative Artist, has become a multifaceted force to be reckoned with, as a passionate philanthropist and change agent.  “I believe in a purpose-led existence. To be is not enough. If I can have all the success but never change a life for the better, I don’t know if I want success at all. My vision is to work and move with a purpose,” said Makgofe.

The Month of August is very special, particularly in today’s times when women are expected to work like they do not have kids.

Makgofe a mother of four, has over two decades of experience in all-around entertaining, from acting, television adverts, cameos, modeling, and voice-over work for some of the country’s most notable brands.

Today, Makgofe is most fondly known for her role as Charity Ramabu in the popular drama series Skeem Saam, which boasts over 9 million viewers every weekday.

The multitalented Makgofe has a sharp instinct for business; she is the owner of various business interests across the board. She co-owns SelMak- a wellness and healthcare facility that promotes a homeopathic approach in healing, operating in Phalaborwa. She also serves as Managing Director of Serurubele Pictures; a television content production company that aims to be a platform for telling relevant empowering narratives about our world.

Make is also the MD and Founder of the Makgofe Dan Moagi Foundation, a family-run entity that gives back and “pays it forward” in her hometown. The foundation focuses on the health and educational development of children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering and motivating them from a grassroots level.

“I firmly believe we are blessed to be a blessing, so I strive to find a way to plant seeds wherever and with whomever I make contact. That’s what it’s all about, John 13:15,” Makgofe added.
